Collaborative Care with Referring Clinicians

At AK Psychology Group, we work in partnership with psychiatrists, psychotherapists, and other licensed mental health professionals who refer patients for psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy. Our goal is to support your patient’s healing journey while honoring your therapeutic relationship and ensuring a seamless continuum of care.

Our clinicians are trained in both MAPS protocols and ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, as well as through Fluence’s training programs, ensuring a trauma-informed, research-backed, and ethically grounded approach to this work.

What We Offer Your Patients

We specialize in ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, drawing on neuroscience, trauma-informed care, and integrative techniques. Our focus is to help patients access a neuroplastic, open state—what researchers call a “critical period”—in which they can more effectively engage with the deep therapeutic work you have already begun with them.

  • Preparation sessions to build trust and clarify goals
  • Carefully monitored medicine sessions in a safe, relational environment
  • Integration sessions to process emotional material and translate insights into change

Best Practices for Referring Clinicians

  • Clarify the Intention: Before referral, collaborate with your patient to identify a specific focus or area of stuckness. This enhances the relevance of the psychedelic session.
  • Stay Involved: We invite you to remain engaged with your patient’s treatment by coordinating on goals, progress, and any emergent insights post-session.
  • Plan for Integration: Once returned to your care, your patient will likely be in a more open, neuroplastic state. Be ready to support behavioral, relational, or emotional shifts.
  • Use the Window: Psychedelic therapy can reopen a critical period of learning. We recommend scheduling sessions shortly after medicine work to deepen and reinforce growth.

Our Commitment to You

We do not seek to replace existing providers. We aim to support your work by offering your patients a short-term, focused experience that can amplify the gains of your long-term treatment. After the integration phase, we return clients to your care with fresh momentum and expanded capacity for insight and change.
