Mark Hrastar, MA, EdM, LMHC
Licensed Mental Health Counselor | AK Psychology Group | Union Square, NYC and Mount Kisco, NY

Mark Hrastar is a licensed mental health counselor with 20 years of clinical experience. His therapeutic approach is grounded in Jungian depth psychology — the idea that lasting change requires working with what is underneath the surface, not just managing symptoms.

Mark works with adults who are navigating significant transitions, questioning the direction of their lives, or processing experiences that a purely symptom-focused approach cannot reach. He has particular expertise in psychedelic integration, supporting people who have had powerful medicine experiences — ketamine, psilocybin, MDMA, or others — and are working to understand and build on what arose.

His approach draws from Jungian theory, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Motivational Interviewing, tailored to each person’s needs.
