Parent Workshop Series: Social Self Awareness

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years experience as a psychotherapist, helping families through difficult times in their lives. My interest in human development, from early childhood through adulthood, led me to pursue post masters advanced training from psychotherapy institutes in New York City and Westchester County.

I started my private practice in Union Square, NY where I worked with many college students on reducing stress, forming new relationships, adjusting to living independently and establishing their identities. Upon moving my practice to Westchester county, I developed a strong focus on child, adolescent and family therapy. In collaboration with parents, we develop a more complex understanding of their child’s emotional needs. I see many families who are overwhelmed when their children are struggling. Together, we find new strategies for each developmental stage, and help children learn to regulate their emotions.

In addition, I often hear children express that they feel more understood and accepted in their home life. This greater sense of security and connection in their relationships, allows children the ability to be more confident in academics, peer relationships and pursuing areas of interest.

Dr. Josh Friedman, Nutritional Psychology

First off, I just want to say that I am so excited to be collaborating with Dr. Ari Kellner and his practice.

Like Dr. Kellner, I am a trained psychologist with a doctorate from New York University and post-doctoral training in Psychoanalysis from the Training and Research Institute for Self Psychology (TRISP) in New York City.

Though I love therapy, what I will be bringing to the team is what I consider to be the “missing link” in mental health treatment—

Nutritional Psychology

I especially enjoy working with people who have had disappointing experiences with antidepressants or other medications, and those who are clear they want to explore alternatives to conventional mental health treatment.

I will be working collaboratively with Dr. Kellner’s practice ensure that you receive the highest quality integrative mental health care.  And most of all, I look forward to supporting you in your natural healing journey!
